Praised by Percussive Notes Journal as “A Master of Musical Nuance”, ANDY HARNSBERGER enjoys a versatile career as a performer, composer, and educator. He has performed in musical venues across North America, South America, Australia, Japan, and Europe, and presents numerous solo recitals and clinics throughout the United States each year. He has been a featured artist at the Tamborimba Percussion Festival in Cali, Colombia and the Patagonia Percussion Festival in Argentina in 2015 and 2017, and was on the artist/faculty for the Sulzbach-Rosenberg/
Mr. Brandon Kirk and Ms. Jill Overman perform their senior recital in partial fulfillment of their Bachelor’s in Music Education requirements.
Mr. Kirk is in the studio of Dr. Tom Lukowicz and Ms. Overman is in the studio of Ms. Lara Lay.
A reception will immediately follow the recital in the Music Building Band Room (MU 101).
The UNA Percussion Ensembles will perform Steve Reich’s landmark work for percussion ensemble “Drumming.” “Drumming” is widely considered to be one of the most significant compositions of the Twentieth Century, as well as being one of the most important works written for percussion. The piece is based on the concept of rhythmic phasing, as well as the West African drumming styles learned by Reich while visiting Africa. A tour de force for percussion, the work also incorporates vocalists and piccolo. This will be the first full performance of this work done at UNA!
Rock n roll music from the 1950’s through the 80’s with a special tribute to ELVIS! The band will perform classic rock tunes as well as some retro country and vintage blues! Music the way it was before it got the way it is!
